Twenty-five years after the September 11, 2001 attacks, 2,977 lights rose above New York Harbor On September 9, 2026, each drone represented one of the 2,977 people who lost their lives that day, at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard United Airlines Flight 93 As the lights moved through the night, they gradually rebuilt the Twin Towers at their original architectural scale For a moment, the New York skyline looked as it once did The installation, “2,977 Lights Over New York Harbor,” was produced by Sky Elements Drones, in collaboration with 9/11 families, survivors, and first responders.
