I was a rapid response nurse. The amount of times I made direct eye contact and popped the code carts after someone asked me not to. I honestly took pleasure in it. Don’t put shit I need in it, if you don’t want me to open it.

Yeah as a bedside RN, I do not care. We have opened the crash cart for atropine because the pharmacy was taking to long to get it to us and we needed it. They replaced the med, we filled out a report.

It doesn’t cost that much especially when nothing was used. That is inflated hospital nonsense. I encourage my nurses to open the crash cart whenever they think it’s needed

Just putting this out there.....never once in my 15+ years of veterinary surgery and critical care was a reprimanded for opening a crash cart for a dog.....let that sink in.

Back in 1984 I was with a patient in VQ scan area at 2 am when he crashed. The crash cart was behind a locked glass door. I smashed the glass with a chair, called a BLUE 100 and patient survived. Hospital wamted me to pay to repair the glass. They're still waiting.

Im in hospital pharmacy and do the restocking including crash carts and locking them back up...it does not cost anything to open the dang crash cart 😂 what. like the pt gets billed for the item that was taken out. but it does not cost the hospital anything or open it besides time to restock and putting a new plastic red lock and date on it

I literally would make this everyone’s absolute problem IN ALL OF THE HOSPITAL. I’m emailing everyone. Literally I will search and find the VPs and border directors of whoever is running the hospital. I’m talking to EVERYBODY in HR. I would make such a complete fuss for someone having the gaul and audacity to say something like that. As if $5000 is worth more than someone’s LIFE! I’m calling the news too lol

Opening a crash cart, but not using it, costs nothing but the replacement of the little plastic key. Anything taken from the crash cart and used was charged to the patient.
