My fellow Namibians, especially the residents of Windhoek, we cannot continue tolerating this pathetic level of service delivery by the City of Windhoek. How can we blame residents for littering when it is clear as daylight that the City itself is failing to collect rubbish? When rubbish bins overflow for days, where exactly do you expect people to put their waste? Eventually, it ends up on the ground. You cannot continuously fail to collect rubbish and then turn around and blame residents for the consequences of your own failure. It is time for us to call for the IMMEDIATE REMOVAL of the CEO of the City of Windhoek. Leadership must come with ACCOUNTABILITY. You cannot occupy one of the most powerful and highly paid positions in the City while Windhoek becomes dirtier, basic services deteriorate, and residents are expected to simply accept it. Unlike those weak Councillors who can be intimidated into apologising, I WILL NOT APOLOGISE for demanding accountability. I will not soften my words. I will not withdraw my criticism. And I will not pretend that everything is fine when our City is visibly deteriorating. Under his watch, Windhoek has been reduced from a City to a Village. Residents pay rates and taxes. They deserve CLEAN STREETS. They deserve FUNCTIONING SERVICES. They deserve ACCOUNTABILITY. If you cannot deliver, VACATE THE OFFICE and allow somebody capable to do the job.
