This is awful and I can’t imagine losing your child but I also drive in Portland all day for work and the amount of younger people who just walk without looking or care right into the road blows my mind. They’ll be walking straight then like do a hard 90 degree turn without ever looking

I am old, and all the years I been driving, I almost hit someone the other day, walked out fight in front of me, no cross walk either, if I hadn't slammed on my brakes I would have hit him. Took me days to get over it 🥺

This is so sad. If people just paid slightly more attention than they already do this would have been easily avoided. Obviously you have to yield to pedestrians, but it scares me how many people will just run across the street/bump into the road with no warning whatsoever and not even at a crosswalk or an area that’s safe to cross. Not saying that’s exactly what happened, just that we all need to be more careful drivers and pedestrians included.

Under that bridge is literally the darkest and worst place to drive at night. I used to cross around there when I worked on Warren in my teens and someone literally pulled over mid day to yell at me saying to never cross there again. R.I.P young man. I hope the other recover well and I hope that driver recovers mentally as well
