Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: Late on April 21, 2024, around 11:41 p.m., Solon Police Officers Nicholas Balli and Brad Lender rushed to a crash with injuries on Cannon Road. They pulled up under a tunnel below a rail bridge. A 2008 Chevrolet Impala had smashed into a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. Officer Balli spoke first with a male witness. The man said the Impala's female driver seemed drunk. Balli then approached her. Her name was Nikia Banks. As they talked, Balli smelled alcohol on her breath. He saw clear signs of impairment too. Nikia said she was driving to grab her baby's dad from work. She blamed the Hyundai for hitting her. She confessed to drinks earlier that night. Balli suspected drunk driving. He asked her to do sobriety tests. He began with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. Nikia's eyes jerked. No smooth tracking. Jerks held at max turn. Jerks started before 45 degrees. Next came the Walk and Turn. She missed heel-to-toe steps. She botched the turn. Last was One Leg Stand. She failed to lift her foot right. It dropped too soon. The crash, booze smell, her confession, and bad tests led Balli to arrest her for OVI. A quick car search found Oxycodone pills. They belonged to someone else. After cuffs, Nikia chatted a bit. She'd been at a Browns Stadium concert. She admitted to two beers. Cops took her to Solon PD for booking. They read the BMV 2255 form. She skipped the breath test. Once done, jail staff took her. She got tickets for OVI (4511.19), driving on Non-Compliance Suspension (4510.16(A)), and ignoring traffic signals (414.01(a)1). 8:30 69 to 51 huh 25:20 She says she's a nurse??
