Had to listen to this four times before I realized he was mixing terms. So it’s black on the right side and red on the left side. Who cares about left and right “wound”sides. Even though he was correct, it was confusing the way he presented it.

Easiest way to remember this is rule of thumb whichever way the spring ends with your thumb is the side it goes on. Some springs are marked incorrectly. Get it all the time.

I hope you didn’t do the original install. The end bearings are not on the correct location. Should be the lower mounting holes for 15” radius track.

cant count on the paint colors. we have gotten some that the color was wrong. Just make sure the end of the coil is pointing toward the ceiling.
