One thing I've noticed about people I've spoken to who don't like "A Little Life" - they're not as familiar with severe trauma so when they see a story like Jude's, it's too heavy and they don't like it because it makes them uncomfortable. That doesn't mean it's not a good book, it's just not for you

I read A Little Life wala context about its content. It really took me awhile to finish kasi mabigat sya but it is so beautiful. May pagka extreme lang mga ganap sa buhay ni Jude but I think dun mo ma-appreciate why it's called A Little Life. Anyway, kung di nyo po matapos or matagal bago nyo matapos I think that's totally normal for this book.

did you really read a little life if it did not destroy you? also, “the author cherishes pain”? how should one portray trauma then? Jude went through so much, it is actually impossible to put it into words, and the author did that.

i think it should not be labeled as worst, kasi okay naman yung story and the way it was written, and mostly sinasabi nila na worst sya kasi mabigat, masyadong masakit, etc. worst yung feeling pero as a book... nagkakaroon tuloy ng misconception about A Little Life🤦♀️"worst" sana is yung pangit ang story, cliche na tapps pangit din writing style ganon..

a little life is meant to be challenging. while i understand that it's quite triggering, i feel like that's been already established years ago so trigger warnings are readily available. at the end of the day, we consume books that suit our personal taste
