The sediment that settles on the bottom needs to be pulled out with the flow of oil coming out from underneath by gravity. That’s my on concern.

draining from the drain pan ensures a way to also drain out any particles in there as well bc its the lowest point where they would settle, and the drain plug magnet needs checked also.
