You have to understand, this is the fault of ZZZ themselves. They've garnered and catered to an audience who are mostly interested in female characters since the beginning of the game. If they had consistently pushed out a decent ratio of male characters from the start, with as much focus and marketing as they give female characters, then people would've actually stayed to pull for the upcoming ones. The majority of people are not going into this game for specifically male characters anymore, because despite the popularity they get in social media, it's clear how ZZZ devs care little about male characters, so people going into the game who were primarily interested in them would've most likely left a while ago, because they see the way they get treated. Also have you seen ZZZ's catered audience? It's always either the Lolicons, the "Mmm Mommy Milkers" people, and the Shonen Anime Powerscalers. You can probably guess which one of those are willing to spend money on this game for male units.

can’t they at least give us a male agent every two patches. Wdym we only got one male agent on 3.x lmao. i need some motivation to keep playing, i really love zzz’s playstyle, i can’t find anything that’s even close to zzz in terms of how fun and enjoyable the combat style. And i found it unsettling that the people on zzz community seems to prefer the half naked girls than a male agent. It’s funny how they’d defend hoyo for making these girls in an inappropriate clothing. Severian is not even that tempting or a must pull, i never planned on pulling for him from the beginning (I have banyue and sbilly, coolest chars hoyo ever made). And almost every male agents are made to be dps, they fall off so fast, i need a support male agent. And I don’t think those viewers on social medias even play zzz.

The real reason male characters don't sell well is HoYo itself, because they always get nerfed and are constantly released right before some other super-broken character who is crucial to the lore. That makes it hard for F2P players to get the character they actually want, and most people will simply go for the best-performing characters in the game. Personally, I don't care—I pulled for Billy instead of Velina, and I spent over 300 pulls on Harumasa's banner instead of Ramielle's. Even if Phoemix has the best kit in the game and Severian has the worst, and he drops right before a Sunbringer, I'm still going to pull for him. But not everyone thinks that way, so until HoYo stops nerfing male characters, they're going to keep selling poorly.

Part of the issue is they butcher their kits AND put them between VHs 🥀 Like no shit your male characters aren’t selling, you don’t give them the chance to sell dude. Take Banyue for example, his banner got cut in half, they made his kit absurdly hard to play with very little reward, AND they placed him between a Yixuan run 🥀

Male characters don't sell because the target audience of ZZZ isn't interested in them. It's like if in "Tears of Themis" they decided to add a female character, it wouldn't sell because the target audience wouldn't be interested.

Hoyo will never release a meta character so f2ps will never pull for them, in 2 years no male character was important to the story/were in tier0. All male characters drop as tier 0.5 and fall to tier 1 in 2 patches. Shiyuan was the only relevant character in lore but he is nowhere to be seen and isn’t playable

Male characters produce for money outside of the game, as their fans often buy merchandise of them. But why not spend to get them in game? or save for them? I mostly collect Female characters, and i don't just pull for anyone, I see what I want and save!

Everyone except voidhunters make barely any money in game. Fym Velina has the worst sales of all anomaly agents??? And now Claret became the worst banner of all time. It's just hoyo's bad strategy, people pulling only voidhunters and maybe supports for them like Yuzu for Miyabi or Lucia for Yixuan.

As somone who has all male characters in the game I skipped every void hunter and the real reason why male characters dont make money is male wanters skip most banners so we have so many pulls that we dont need too spent money

Genuinely never understood both sides of the coin. From one side, pushing Hoyo to stop making Male characters would most probably kill of hinder the diversity of design and gameplay within the game. All the male agent we have gotten have brought something new and unique to the table. And on the other side, I think wanting constant makes would lower the quality of their stories character or gameplay, all the male cast has had top tier stories. Basically they are a quality over quantity deal.

it's the paradox they created themselves. If they make less male charas there will be less female players, which results in less male charas revenue which means less male charas. and less male charas means less female players. + their male characters aren't always good back then, a good male charas in the female gaze is like wanderer, harumasa, phainon, etc.
