it's about open source. they have no moat if Chinese models are competing with them, therefore there is justification for the spent money. just like telsa / Chinese cars

there is a security problem. an advanced ai can hack your system, so you can protect your system with ai as well, and that levels the field, unless ai advances so.fast that companies can't keep repairing their security. so they need to slow down to give time to companies to secure their systems... paying them of course. it's a new kind of blackmail at the same time

They just want AI regulation, so that US based companies cannot use China based models. Microsoft, Uber, Door dash, etc already uses DeepSeek, GLM, Qwen, because its economical, or they host it themselves. If that AI regulation happens it will be detrimental to US just to make Anthropic / OpenAI / Grok afloat and relevant. NVidia will also be affected if they do this. Rest of the world doesnt care anyway. So Sam Altman, and Dario better prepare themselves for jail time due to over inflating their company value to Trillions but in fact its not, this is indeed some form of Market manipulation and over hype to fool the investors. People need to go to jail for this.
