“Rights” and “serving” are not exactly the same meaning here. The Arabic word in the narration is حَقّ(ḥaqq), meaning a right, due, entitlement, or obligation owed to someone. It does not specifically mean “doing household services” such as cooking, cleaning, washing clothes, etc. So the hadith means: The husband has a very significant right over his wife. The mother has a very significant right over her son. It does not, by itself, say: “A wife must serve her husband the most,” nor does it establish that every type of household service is exclusively the wife's responsibility. In fact, when discussing whether a wife is religiously obligated to perform household chores, scholars have different opinions, and that question needs separate evidence.
