I didn’t deserve to be treated that way and it took a year of counseling and support to understand I didn’t deserve her contempt and abuse. And I don’t know how much longer I’ll need before I’ll ever trust anyone. It impacted all layers of my life. And I am still actively trying to regulate my nervous system.
