Bought a huge house 8 years ago… glad I did. My kids can stay as long as they need and bank their money. There’s no way I can consciously advice them to buy a house right now. Or even rent.

something weird is going on, for sure. virtually all of the world's currencies, including the British Pound, are Fiat, though. nothing is based on anything of hard value these days -- hasn't been the case for decades. So, it's even worse than you're saying.
