As a student nurse,a woman once d I e d in my hands,with my colleague holding up the oxygen tank,with all his heart, before she gave up,she was saying to us:pls,dont let me go,we promised her that we'll not let her kpai,after about 2 minutes,she became cold,her grip loose,her eyes were still staring at me, I couldn't cry, because the daughter was crying and praying,so we have to comfort her. I always tell people these things; 1. If you don't have a heart, don't do nursing 2.If you can't handle heartbreaks,pls avoid nursing 3.The hospital walls have heard sincere cries and prayers than the church altars 4. Your patient that welcomed you at the beginning of your shift, and was happy to see you might not live to the end of the shift.

I've worked at emergency of 2 big teaching hospitals in Ghana for 8 years now, I see death also every single day, different kinds of death, the fast, the simple, the painful, the shocking, the lessons and every way people leave this world and I say death is the most commonest thing to happen to human.

To whom life is given death is promised. As human beings are just greedy, you were not there and came into existence but when they mention death you see panic and sadness etc. We don’t really die we transition from non-existence to existence to non- existence again and on and on.

Death is not a new thing in my life..... I'm not afraid of death because I lost my father at a very young age & my father died when I needed him most in my life.To be honest it's over thirty years ago but every day of my life I remember him and sometimes I cry in secret.Let me be frank there is nothing like healing because whenever I remember I die. Therefore, death has been part of my daily life experience and fear not.

There was a time I witness 2 little kids died just within few hours staying with my niece at the hospital 🏥 ℹ dont know when I started crying cus I witnessed someone dying looking at them it’s crazy doctors tried thier best but it is wha it is 💔
