I love to see people using the NHS properly 👏👏👏 Too many people would go to A&E for the same thing then complain about a nine-hour wait 😳

Ive only had to call 111 once and it was 4 years ago and I have an horrid fever and was bed bound, needed 2 of my house mates to carry me around and they kept my door open to watch me on rotation. I waited 2 hours (it was already like 1am) and they told me I’d defo be taken into hospital…if it wasn’t for covid 😭😭 they basically told I was already doing everything I could do and that hospital would be the next step but they couldn’t risk me coming in. I have no real memories of those 2 weeks but all I know is that I wrote my best university assignment during that time. Still have no idea what was wrong with me but it took me like a month to recover

When the NHS works it can be absolutely brilliant. A lot of people in the UK might not realise but it’s a federated system, so sometimes service to service/ Trust to Trust systems aren’t always as slick as they could be, but for me, it’s one of the best systems in the world to deal with a population of near to 70m people

Every time I’ve been to the urgent care in London I’ve waited 5+ hours 😭 also waited 6 hours in A&E when I had a life threatening condition and needed to be put on an IV asap

There is also an amazing walk in clinic in Soho. I went there with a painful under the nail splinter and the nurse got it out with teasers about 10 minutes after I walked in

You can just walk into any urgent care centre they will have a nursing team that can help you

There are also walk-in centres all over London! Great for things like this and you don’t need to call ahead

Love the NHS. I had to go to hospital for an eye problem this week. Send straight to an eye specialist a&e, was seen within 3 hours, got an appt for Monday for a follow up. Really excellent care. We are so lucky to have it
