As the teacher I wouldn’t have gotten mad to begin with, if a kid is stealing food is probably because they or someone close to them needs it. I would’ve questioned why he took it to make sure everything was okay but I don’t think coming on so accusatory at the start was necessary for a seemingly hungry kid taking a snack. Definitely make sure he knows stealing isn’t okay, but he was probably just embarrassed.
