Half of the left don't even know what they are supporting.

and if a Muslim does hold other Muslims accountable they get told they have internalised islamophobia and hate their own ppl. same happens in the trans community and within the black community.

This is exactly what I say. I’m certainly not liberal, and I’m not quite conservative. But I am consistent therefore I identify as nothing

When you said “progressive”, I was very prepared to disagree. However, everything you said was straight facts.

My best friend of 35 years, was best man at his wedding, godfather to his kids. I say best friend, we were until he slapped his wife in a drunken argument. We haven't spoke in three years and wont until he works on himself. He blames everyone but himself for his problems🤷🏽

My sister is Christian, I’m pagan. She will say “I’ll pray for you” when I’m struggling and I’ll say “I’ll pray to the gods and light a candle for you”. It’s the act of lifting up and prayers or thoughts or wishes that matter to us. I’m honored to be mentioned in her prayers, regardless of who they’re prayed to. 🖤

I fully agree with you I think people are afraid to lose woke points by criticizing Islam (and other religious practices). They don’t care at all, they’re performative. And Muslim people who don’t want to hear any criticism on their beliefs or religion utilized the left’s woke agenda to their advantage as a cover. It shouldn’t be political

Exactly. And I’m conservative but I do not support Israel. If you agree with everything in one party you aren’t thinking about politics correctly

People lack the ability to see gray areas. They want to view the world as black and white. Either a thing is good or its inherent evil. And we learned that Islamophobia = bad, so we can’t criticize this religion in any way. Same goes for transphobia = bad, so we can’t criticize trans people for things they said because then we’d be bad people. It’s either you accept and respect everything without expecting the same respect in return or you’re phobic in some way

Perfectly said. If you’re standing on a principle and expect that from ONE group of people, and are lenient on it for ANOTHER group, that is discrimination and self serving bias.

I think it is a fine line. Holding everyone to the same standards is necessary, but some people use that opening to be racist. it's exhausting because most people can't walk that fine line.

This video is super interesting and I found that I agreed with all of it but it still got me in a pinch. I thought about it and I realised. It’s because most people you have described are playing defence. A lot of the fear in criticising Islam comes from (at least to me) a constant battle to validate the lives of the people connected with it. You mentioned a topic of not wanting people from those nations to come near you but; the west did kinda do things that continued to foster violence or prevent growth in these areas. Also a lot of this is done by men in power to victims such as women and children. Identity politics and Islamophobia targets those groups the most as they tend to be the largest victims of it while also wanting to escape from it while also internalising it. It would be easy to accept the nuance, but like the triangle of needs. No one has time for the nuance of Iranians escaping the war when people weaponise fear and criticism of them to push for war. Or how black Americans might instinctively side with a black person being arrested simply from how often unfair arrests and brutality take place without any compensation. Leftists in the west right now are stuck desperately fighting against the hypocrisy of a system that has the same problems it points at in marginalised groups and then exploits the anger of said people. Admiring to the violence in Muslim countries in a debate for example would be arming the side that labels them sub human. It’s more like… we don’t have enough peace for nuance or outward consistency but that isn’t an excuse. I would make a video response but no one is going to hear that.
