@hyvemindmedia: Macklemore has been removed from the remaining dates of Ed Sheeran’s U.S. tour after seven stadiums reportedly told promoters they would not host shows with him on the lineup following his public support for Palestinians. The backlash began after Macklemore opened for Sheeran at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on Sept. 4 and 5, where he performed his protest song “Hind’s Hall,” displayed footage from Gaza and the occupied West Bank, and told the crowd that Palestinians had “not been forgotten.” The Israeli-American Council subsequently launched a campaign calling for Macklemore’s removal from the tour. Macklemore responded by standing behind his comments, saying his message was one of peace, dignity and equal treatment for all people. On Monday, tour promoter Messina Touring Group told Rolling Stone that venues on upcoming dates had informed the company that they would not allow concerts to proceed with Macklemore on the lineup, creating the possibility that entire shows could be canceled. The promoter said Macklemore would therefore no longer appear on the remaining support dates. According to Rolling Stone, the seven venues that allegedly objected to Macklemore performing are:
