I was born in Titograd in 1966 and my parents couldn’t wait to leave to America in 1968, and they weren’t the only ones. So many wanted to flee to America that Yugoslavia put restrictions on the number of people allowed to leave every year. We were amongst the fortunate who left and never looked back. Others were not as fortunate. Nothing like listening to an American hate on America while praising the country that my family couldn’t get out of fast enough

Yugoslavia fell apart because it was created on paper without people's consent. You cannot meddle with people's identity and borders and hope non representation via any ideology will give it Legitimacy. The EU has made the same mistake.
