My exact experience. I feel like his ego is getting in the way, because he’s trying to act like he didn’t hurt me or like we’ve been perfectly fine all along, simply because I chose to move past everything that happened. He never really took accountability for his actions. He’s too prideful to admit that he genuinely hurt me by abandoning me like that. I think he believes that because he felt he was doing what was right at the time, he doesn’t owe me an apology, and that we should just move on as though nothing happened. But even though I’ve forgiven you and chosen to move forward, I still deserve an honest, heartfelt conversation about what happened. Forgiveness doesn’t erase the need for accountability or closure. And since you’d rather hold on to your pride than be vulnerable with me, I’ve chosen to walk away.
