most people were taught to look for god somewhere outside themselves. above them, beyond them, in heaven, in a future state they have not yet reached. but so much of jesus’ teaching keeps turning attention inward. the kingdom is not presented merely as a distant destination. again and again, the deeper movement is toward recognition. this changes the meaning of spiritual awakening completely. if what you are searching for is already present at the deepest level of your being, then the path is not about becoming worthy enough to receive something absent. it is about seeing through what keeps you from recognising what was already there. fear, identity, judgement and the constant noise of the mind can obscure what is present without ever removing it. that is why jesus spoke so often in the language of seeing and hearing. having eyes but not seeing, having ears but not hearing. the problem is not always that truth is far away. sometimes it is that the mind is looking in the wrong direction. the kingdom can be present while the person remains unaware of it. awakening, then, is not necessarily becoming something completely new. it is recognising what has always been beneath the temporary identity, beneath the story, beneath the separation. and once that recognition begins, jesus’ teaching stops sounding like a list of religious instructions and starts reading like a map back to what you actually are. if you’re ready to understand what jesus was actually pointing to, The Inner Teaching of Christ is in the link in bio. #jesuschrist #esoteric #consciousness #awakening #nonduality - @youarereality
