How much would it cost to simply get a neighborhood together and have the parents pay a, say, second grade teacher that has been fired, and have her ‘teach / babysit’ that neighborhoods 20-40 children? I would seriously rally my neighbors of their children were near my child’s age and see if they were keen to maybe forgo public school and daycare to pool together what would’ve been daycare cash and put to work an out of work teacher. My grade school had mixed grades, idk maybe a crazy idea but these seem like not sane times lol

Shuttering schools. This has happened in the past with no teacher or parent input. Reality is Less students means - less schools. We tax payers can’t keep empty bldgs open. We aren’t getting raises that keep up with inflation.. Something has to give - time to nut up and make hard decisions.

Teachers have no right to be constantly whining when kids are doing so poorly in all subjects. Schools should be privatized, and parents should be able to choose where they send their kids. Schools that produce good results will thrive, and schools that don't will fail. Teachers who are good at their jobs get paid well, and teachers who aren't get fired. Plus, all the bad kids can be kicked out so the good kids don't have to deal with them
