If you watched the Karen Read trial the crash reconstructionist used in this case is the equivalent of trooper Paul. Nobody else has looked at the evidence. Mackenzie’s lawyer is a prosecutor in the county he works in so of course he didn’t challenge him when they work together all the time. What I don’t understand is why her appeal attorneys still haven’t had an independent firm loo at the evidence. If it’s a matter of money they should have crowdfunded because it is possible they could prove Mackenzie is innocent or at the very least challenge the evidence. If she did lose consciousness they could explain how that is consistent with the data. They could determine if the EDR data is accurate, how fast she was going, when the car accelerated, if the data was consistent with any attempt to slow the car, when the airbag deployed, how her slipper was positioned where it was, similarities to other accidents … etc. There are so many inconsistencies and claims that don’t make sense. It’s almost like nobody including Mackenzie’s team actually wants to know what happened which doesn’t make any sense because even if it confirmed the states theory that wouldn’t hurt her. I can’t believe this wasn’t done for the appeal especially because I’m pretty sure after her Habeas she can’t file another appeal even if she could prove innocence. If she would have had used a public defender for her appeal this is likely the first thing they would have done, same for if she had a public defender handle her criminal trial.
