My girls regression was the exact same and it’s the absolute most heartbreaking thing ever 😭 so so fucking scary when you don’t know it’s autism. We thought she was sooo poorly bc she woke up one day and was disgusted in all her fave foods, would barely move, absolutely silent. I was googling like mad and autism kept coming up. Crazy crazy experience

My sons regression was brutal, he was a happy talkative well weaned 16 month old until he wasn’t. He never spoke again until he was 4 and then one day said “oh that was Maui just messing around” 🤣

Grace was overnight, she had other signs similar to Lyla but at 18mths woke up & couldn’t do anything she had before lost all speech, stopped waving clapping etc & went from being soooo happy to frustrated & cried so much. Regressions are brutal 😭😭

The diagnosis came very quickly- was it via the NHS? My daughter was referred when she was 2 and a half and we are still waiting one year on x

My sons regression hit very quickly around age 2! We spent a week in hospital and somewhere in that week he lost almost everything he knew how to do! Most heartbreaking thing I have dealt with!xx

my son was 16m when he had his regression. its one of the most difficult things to experience as a parent. i honestly blamed myself for a while. my child didnt show any signs before then.

I think that why the acceptance for me was so easy with my little girl being diagnosed autistic, I recognised very early on she never learnt anything that your typical children would, there was no regression no lost skills we just never had them to begin with I don’t think I’d ever be able to get my head around watching her loose skills she already had, I always say how heartbreaking that would be

my little boy is 2 and half just been put forward for a autism assessment been told it can be around 2 years wait. he is very similar to what you've described with your daughter. x

My daughter couldn’t form sentences or communicate age appropriately still can’t. She is also bilingual so it was hard to know what was what. She would never ask or answer questions normally. she was reaching targets till 18 months then fell behind

Yes! Oh my gosh with my brother, he did the same things and especially in regards to the regression, he used to respond to his name and then at like 10 months old is when he stopped responding to his name the spinning started, his echolalia as well was diagnosed shortly after! At least me and my mum weren’t the only ones to catch the regression, and it was literally overnight… like just boom wow! Thanks for speaking out 🤍 it’s so helpful and so encouraging watching these videos

Ours was brutal we had our suspicions earlier but around 12 months he stopped talking,feeding himself engaging with anyone he was diagnosed at 2 and started school just after he was the youngest at the time in his school he never spoke again his brain never progressed again after he regressed he’s 15 now still working at 10-12 months old he has other issues too but to go to bed one day listening to him babble saying yum yums, bottle, dada,mama to the next day he was like a empty shell his eyes where blank it was heartbreaking ❤️🩹

My youngest has all the “usual” signs. But the biggest one was the regression as you said. He’s almost 4 now and is nonverbal. Aswell as having severe developmental delay
