KC is the best! Drinks at Monarch or the Green Lady, steak at 801 or 1587, Perisol is excellent, Dolce for the best cinnamon rolls you’ve ever had. If you make it to Overland Park, Tortilla Ranch.

I have this argument with my kids when we go on vacation. Why eat or even do something you can do at home. Experience new things. See what the locals have to offer. Its a way better experience.

If you ask the hotel for a recommendation, sometimes they don’t have an answer, but if you ask them if I can only eat at one restaurant while I’m here, where would you go? That’s where I found the hidden gems.

I reverse this when I go visit my home State. I only eat restaurants that I can’t get in Northern Virginia. And most of those are local to the Columbia SC area.
