campaign ads have always sucked, I believe that Obama was so popular because he didn't attack his opponents, he focused on a positive message, that said, trump is a terrible human being and deserves the negativity

I never payed attention to the ads. I waited to see who was running, researched voting records and whoever lined up with my values and morals, that’s who I voted for. Yes, sometimes I vote Republican, sometimes Democrat, sometimes independent, but that was the beauty of it, I could vote how I wanted. Not this year though, I’m voting for my rights as a woman, and as someone fighting to keep not only my rights, but the rights of others. We need people in office to work for all of us, not just the select few, regardless if you voted for them or not.

The process of making a choice happens primarily in the limbic/ emotional brain. Advertising is an emotional hook. Corporations spend billions on advertising because it works.

If ads don’t work why do they need so much money? They certainly are not paying campaign staff big bucks. The ads bring name recognition to the ballot box for the low information voter.
