This was literally me for 43 years. I lived with a racing heart since childhood, learned to mask it, and tried every diet, supplement, and detox available because I thought it was just severe stress. Fourteen years ago I finally gave up and let doctors put me on heavy psychiatric medications. One drug after another, including long-term benzodiazepines, which only offered temporary relief and completely ruined my system. It wasn't until late last year that I finally discovered dysautonomia and POTS on my own. It turns out my "anxiety" and panic attacks were just the physical, uncontrollable consequence of my heart constantly misfiring. I am still waiting for a specialist, and they put me on beta-blockers without considering my naturally low blood pressure. It completely paralyzed my energy. I used to sleep for 17 hours because I physically could not get out of bed. I am tapering down the dose now and desperately hoping to switch to a low dose of ivabradine.I don't want to project a diagnosis on you, but have you ever been evaluated for dysautonomia or POTS? If you monitor your heart rate, do you notice it spiking specifically when you stand up or walk, or settling down when you lie flat? Also, do your symptoms flare up terribly right after eating, or do you struggle with chronic body pain and profound weakness? Painful periods? Endometriosis? Any of these are connected….It took me four decades to realize that my "anxiety disorder" was actually a structural, neurological fight-or-flight failure. Sending you so much strength.❤️🩹🙏❤️💚
