TOO MANY BAD SHOWS. Marvel is going that way too. When films are released every few years it builds up more anticipation, theyre churning out nonsense storylines nobody asked for, ok its making them money, but its killing the brand.

I absolutely hate that Star Wars is handcuffed to the what, 60-70 year time period surrounding Anakin/Luke/Rey. Every new project is essentially just filling gaps between films, or telling you where X character was when Y was happening. It's so relentlessly boring and limited - just creatively bankrupt as they drain the well with projects like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ashoka, The Book of Boba Fett - fine if anyone enjoyed them but there simply MUST be better stories to tell than this. Fans probably won't react particularly well to a reboot/remakes, and honestly I'd rather we leave all of the current canon behind - make something original and tell everyone it takes place 20,000 years in the future and everyone you know is gone and forgotten, complete refresh on the state of the galaxy, new cast, new conflict. That has to be the way because even when they start doing something interesting - Mandalorian S1 being an adventure of the week western unrelated to any other characters, it devolves into a Glupp Shitto convention.

It pains me that we are not even considering new stories but have come to expect and deal with the reboots/restarts of the ones that were already told so beautifully. Same with HP, scary to think it’s gonna happen to SW too. Or to LOTR, god forbid

they really should just bury it and leave it alone but capitalism demands a return on its investments so I do think they will eventually reboot it. unfortunately.

Its so easy for star war to just jump into time like a thousand years as well. and just start brand new stories with brand new lore/characters/galactic landscape.
