@goatcult.media: On October 23, 2024, police began pursuing a stolen 2024 Honda CR-V near Los Angeles. The driver, later identified as 26-year-old Anna Zauner, led authorities through northern Los Angeles County and into Kern County, at times reaching around 120–130 mph and driving along the shoulder. After eventually turning back south on the 5 Freeway, Zauner attempted to cut across several lanes toward the Highway 138 exit near Gorman. She entered the ramp at over 100 mph, lost control on the shoulder and the SUV began rolling before slamming into a concrete overpass pillar. Zauner died at the scene. No one else was injured during the pursuit. The entire pursuit and its final moments were captured live by news helicopters.
