I think the only mutants who are obliged to be "cured" is those who use their abilties to harm others (Sabertooth), can't exist without causing harm to others (Omega Red) or by merely existing already cause harm to others (Town-melting kid).

x-men are not against the cure necessarily they're against: 1. forcing it 2. x-men members taking it out of principle beak also has a loving wife and kids even if he looks like that he doesn't need the cure
