@gradientfc: A look at the highest-graded players from the opening round of Champions League games, using our Overall Grade methodology. 📊 This isn’t a manually curated editorial list of ‘best players’, it is a piece of data science grading the execution of every single event a player is involved in, on a -2 to +2 scale, in .5 increments. Which is why a player on a ‘bad’ team can still grade well. Every single pass, cross, shot, clearance, pressure (and many more facets), are manually graded across the entire game, both the good and the bad, to create an individual score. This holistic approach will differ to your traditional match ratings (which this is not), it is much more in line with how actual teams evaluate player performance.
