@treatmyocd: There can be something really special about finding someone, whether online, in person, or through the OCD community, who understands what your mind puts you through on a daily basis. Someone who gets the intrusive thoughts and compulsions, can support you through the hard moments, and can also laugh with you about the absurdity of OCD when you need it. @Jacqueline and @Zoe | Online Fitness Coach both live with OCD and advocate for better awareness so other people don’t have to feel alone. And through doing that, they happened to find a friend in each other who gets it too. The intrusive thoughts and compulsions they’re passing the phone to each other for are very real and come from their own experiences with OCD. By sharing them, they hope other people can feel less alone and see that there are people out there who understand what they’re going through. That’s one of the things we love most about the OCD community. Seeing other people openly talk about experiences you thought nobody else would understand can be a reminder that you’re not the only one going through them. If intrusive thoughts and compulsions are taking over your life, please know that things can get better. They did for Jac and Zoe. OCD is highly treatable with specialized therapy. While drunk, immoral thoughts and images of my close friend flooded my mind. In fear, I reached out my arm while he was asleep (even though there was some distance between us) and then pulled it back. For six months I've been thinking, "You reached out your arm, so you wanted it, you're immoral," and now I'm feeling like I am the worst person ever. Please help 🙏🏻
