Just please explain why they don’t know basic multiplication facts? I’m all for understanding and using concept but the bottom line is they don’t know how to multiply. In seventh grade I am still teaching concept when it comes to two step equations we use bar diagrams, but they can’t distribute because they can’t multiply and then we’re throwing negatives on top of it..
