that commenter is not interacting with you in good faith. that said: direct communicators will always offend indirect communicators because its basically assumptions on assumptions, where indirect people assume you're being indirect too and also assume you're being weirdly malicious if your dont match their specific kind of indirect. you will not convince them otherwise. once the pattern is established, disengage and just know that everything you do or dont do will be perceived as a personal attack on them if theyre even slightly uncomfortable, and how they feel about that is their responsibility. they will fight tooth and nail to make everyone else think its not their own responsibility because theyre incapable of tolerating these types of discomfort and avoid/offload it any chance they can. youre only perceived as rude because you didnt follow the script they made up to the letter and they cant accept any other possibility.

The comments like “that’s just how communication works, you’re a bully for not getting with the program” are wild. Indirect communication is absolutely not my style, I am incapable of doing it. The same way some people are unable to take the stairs and need an escalator. Do yall allistic people also yell at wheelchair users for not being able to use the stairs? Are wheelchair users bullies if they ask for a ramp?
