My husband ran track and cross country and then worked with a timing company for those events… it is very common. When running, it gets things moving. And you can’t expect them to not eat to have empty systems because they wouldn’t have the energy to even attempt said races.

In card tournaments they usually have a stink rule now because people would come in REEKING to try to get people to mess up or forfeit. Same thing should be considered for other events for this exact reason. Things happen but its not fair to other contestants.

I did a Tough Mudder in 2014 (half marathon with multiple obstacles you need to do like ice baths, rope climbs, etc.) the next year the amount of people who got diseases while doing the run in FL because of urinating and defecation in the mud that was ingested made me NEVER do one again.
