As a kid who did this let me tell you: you are making a mistake here as a mother. They need to develop psycologically with their peers. They need to go thru life stages as a normal kid.

To be honest, I'd rather just give them a choice of not going to high school and go to penn foster, where you get your high school diploma in six months, as long as you graduated from middle school, and then they can take two years or three years in an actual college where they only have to deal with college work, not on top of high school so they could work, but I would recommend going to a career college, not going for a four year. Unless what they're going in for needs, it

this is fun, but what if your kid wants to go to a UC school and even with an associates and hs diploma, doesn't get in? they can't apply for TAP as a high schooler and they can only apply to the UC as a transfer once they have 2 yrs of credits. if they only get one year of credits, they can apply as a TAP xfer and be guaranteed a spot. Is their community college still free after HS? Did your kids have time to enjoy high school, be part of the community, make mistakes, learn about socialisation, team building, and leadership while doing the workload of high school and college classes? I'm seriously asking this one bc this is the constant barrier point that comes up in my house.

My son finished his dual enrollment with an associate degree at a community college virtual, but he’s 18 when he started college right now, still finished HS just like others but cutting the college years in half. I don’t understand why your daughter started college at 13 yo? That’s just middle school. I agree financial wise this is the best route - but not ideal for everybody, it is socially and psychologically tough bec kids need to sacrifice things and grind or study more than their peers

I don’t want my child growing up before he has to. I prefer my child to enjoy his child hood years and not rush through to become an adult as soon as possible

I mentioned this to my 11 year old twins: their response was : " mom we want to enjoy all our school time with our friends!" End of story!! leave them with their peers!!

Our eldest did it thru acceleration but would never do it again and would never do it with his siblings... life is too short for anybody not to normally enjoy their first 25-30 years of existence 😐

My 15yo is doing this and we are trying to be smart about it. She took psych over the summer. It satisfies a hs requirement AND a college requirement. She took it online through local cc, not at the high school. We are doing personal finance now which covers a math a credit without having to change her current school schedule. Planning either chemistry or algebra 2 for the spring.

In Florida they have dual enrollment and they pay for college classes and take them as high AND college credits. 🥰
