He had to make the best choice for himself. And I thought it was ridiculous that none of the brothers started their own families. The women either died or went away. Adam at least should have had a family. How was the Cartwright family supposed to continue without a next generation? Pernell Roberts was great in Trapper John! I watched the show every week.
