I thought steel was an alloy with iron and carbon. Iron is an element not an alloy. Why would they name an alloy the same thing as an element.

I’m a MS social studies teacher and what we teach is that generally bronze is easier to work with at lower temperatures

I think a massive part of bronze being used first instead of iron is that copper individually would’ve been the “easiest” to gather and turn into a turn while being the “weakest” material if you want to think of it like Minecraft which made using a copper alloy much more direct of a route
