Color fact: Colors can actually change depending on which other colors you put next to them. Our brains are surprisingly easy to fool. The same shade can look lighter, darker, warmer, cooler or more intense just because its surroundings changed. This is called simultaneous contrast, and it’s one of the reasons a bunch of strong colors next to each other can look even more ridiculously colorful. And some completely useless art knowledge: There is a shade of green called Hooker’s green.
