My name is Megan Glancey! 🌼💕 I live in Austin, TX (originally from El Paso!) and grew up in a patriotic Mexican American home and community. I then went off to the Naval Academy to get an education (because student debt scared me!) and to serve something greater than myself: American people! I was luckily selected to fly in the jet community. I did and saw a lot, and I have very complicated feelings about war and its systems now. But I have very consistent and compassionate feelings for its victims: service members, working class American families, veterans, all global citizens. I also got the chance to work at the NSA and White House (not for this current guy don’t worry 🤮). I was in rooms I could have only dreamed of seeing! I have learned and mastered a lot! (grad degree in Government and Political Comms from Johns Hopkins! 👩‍🎓). After leaving the Navy I asked myself what I wanted my next mission to be? And, well, after burning thousands of pounds of fuel a day flying, my next fight had to be the climate crisis. I contributed to it, I should be part of the solution! Now, I am a senior developer for large scale utility wind and solar renewable energy projects! In my free time? I YAP! I love to GAB and GOSSIP and TALK! But I try to walk the talk too. I care about and volunteer for my community, big and small. I worked in male saturated environments and want to see more opportunity and care for women at all levels. I saw prejudice of so many kinds woven between deep understanding and love and I want to represent the latter.
