Games cost between $60 and $90 on average. I refuse to pay that much for a game someone let AI slap together in anyway. of.yoj are gonna make games with AI drop the price back to $10 or $20 because there is zero price justification for paying $60

I used to love level 5 but I won't be buying the new professive Layton game and just because I'm 100% against AI and always will be and don't see why anyone should ever use it

It’s two things, one they know full well the majority of the consumers do not want AI in our products so of course they are being super secretive about it. The other part is, they so desperately want to use it and sneak it by us, so it comes out, we love it and then they can pop out and say, see you love AI after all.

if developers are using genAI for "efficiency" that'd better mean the games are real cheap. We all know that's not how businesses run though, so I'll continue to refuse to pay for games that can't be bothered to pay for artists.

Can I also just say that it doesn't matter if they say 'it's just a placeholder and the full release won't have AI in it' for so many reasons? Whether it's in the concept/design stage or using AI to write the story or code or anything else, they're still using a racist, sexist, no-nuance knowing machine that's built off of the unfair theft of real artists', coders', musicians', translators', game developers' etc works. On top of that, the AI that's being used is contributing to the use of Data Centers that are causing so much harm for any environment they get built in, stealing water and electricity resources and driving up the prices for the people living there to boot. I don't understand how any company can proudly say that they used the slop machine when people want real art real stories, human made art and stories. It's what we all fell in love with, the dedication to their crafts.... 🥲😭💦🤬🤬🤬
