@cgtnamerica: Footage posted on social media showed a drone hitting a train at a Ukrainian station close to the Ukraine-Poland border on Sunday, Sept. 13. Ukraine’s national railway operator, Ukrainian Railways, said a diplomatic train carrying former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt, and EU security advisers traveled the same route after a security conference in Kyiv. Bildt later confirmed on X that the diplomatic party was not on the train that was hit. “This wasn't our train, but the one just minutes after us by the Polish border crossing,” he posted. Former CIA Director David Petraeus was on another train at the station when the strike occurred, according to Ukrainian Railways. In a Telegram post, the railway said a Russian drone was likely trying to target the diplomatic train. Russia’s defense ministry confirmed it struck railway infrastructure in Western Ukraine “used to transport military cargo.” On Sept. 14, the Russian government said its military is operating on Ukraine’s territory and will “continue to do so.” No casualties on the train have been reported.
