Jeans for 70 instead of 200+, styled like cheap fakes. Except the clothes were real, made by Diesel, limited edition, passed off as counterfeit. First shoppers left with originals at a third of the price with no idea. When Diesel revealed it, lines formed and it sold out in 2.5 days. As an e-com founder I wondered if this works online. In store, the surprise hooks you. On a marketplace the buyer only sees the listing, so the story has to live in the description, photos and reviews.
