I think different types of people require different entry points too. For some people, well-intentioned and optimistic liberals who believe the world is better than it is: Shock Doctrine, Dark Money, The Palestine Laboratory. For liberal nihilists who believe the world can't be better than it is, I'd say Graeber's Debt OR various fiction: Kim Stanley Robinson, Octavia Butler, Le Guin, Miéville. For demoralized leftists or apolitical working class people who believe the world could be better but not in our lifetime, I'd recommend Teamster Rebellion or Revolutionary Suicide. For reactionaries/proto-fascists you just have to publicly embarrass them. the whole point for me is to get people to start interrogating their own assumptions. once they start asking questions, then we can start really getting into theory, and they'll be excited to do it!
