and you are wrong.... you are ignoring a key part of the show and that is when he walks up to hals dead body and inspects his hand to see no ring. this plus episode 5 implies the ring goes back to hal. and if we go by the standards of the rings that means when hal died the ring went to find a new person and since john turned down the ring it did not seek him out.

This show is the most stupid thing and way worse than the movie, like why can't Hal, John and Guy have different rings and not fight over it like school children plus just disrespectful to Hal.

The show is disappointing in the fact that it became musical chairs for one ring rather than fighting intergalactic threats..I mean attrocitus was right there why wasn’t he the red lantern? Hal wore the suit for like one episode and John didn’t even become the next lantern. Great acting, weak storyline

But the outfit was not a construct. It was a literal costume hanging in the closet. It was even there without Hal having his ring on. Meaning that theory is not canon into the DCU.
