For the people in the comments: Having a hobby that takes you two hours versus having a hobby that takes you six hours is a very different thing. My husband is a golfer and this woman is 100% correct. He works full-time and golfs “full-time”and squeezes an hour or two in with the kids here and there. it’s really sad but if I say no, he will just resent me.

my dad was a golfer when I was a kid. so crazy I was able to still grow up and be OK.

Generally when I see people like this, they struggle with watching the kids themselves. I golf with two toddlers. I try to book my rounds leading into nap time or starting then. It’s give and take, but this attitude is impossible to deal with. Thankful for my wife.

I played golf with my dad 2-4 times a week from the age of 11-18 some of my favorite moments were at the golf course with my dad. I had chances to play in college afterwards too. I’m glad my mom didn’t do this to him before I was old enough to play.

They are not babies for very long. After a few years, they are also gone for most of the day at school. A father should prioritize his kids and be present, even if that means taking a break from golf. My point is, it’s not golfers that are a problem, it’s men with shit priorities.

Girl I golf with my husband and we have a great time! I think when we have kids, we’ll both be golfing less. I also want to be able to have hobbies when I’m a mom. Can you do it as frequently as you did before kids? Absolutely not! But you can still do it! You don’t have to golf every weekend to be a good golfer. This is a bad take. Maybe the guy you dated just didn’t like you……. Mine would sacrifice golf if I wanted to spend time with home
