Abus Padlock from Public Storage used to demonstrate how to pick a lock. This is a 50mm laminated steel body padlock that I was able to pick up from Mercari. It was part of the same bundle that the Chateau lock from the last video was in. The listing stated that it was from the self storage company Public Storage, but that was really all it said. When the lock arrived I was happy to discover that it was an Abus 41 core. The Abus 41 does contain security pins in the form of spool drivers. These spool pins, along with the Yale style keyway make it a nice lock for beginners to pick up and practice with if they are wanting something outside of the popular master 140 series or brinks locks. While the Abus 41 is currently unranked in the LPU belt system (which makes it a white belt by default) I would place it at a yellow belt rank personally. If you are interested in learning how to pick locks, make sure to check out my playlist covering the basics of how to pick a lock, as well as other useful skills and info here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKAZpfazOuZPIziiSRKaeuiVeYB_xrOJt&si=1THeXEyShSLI2JQ7 If you are looking for other pickers to talk to or a community full of friendly people that will be happy to help you with any lock you are struggling with check out the LPU sub Reddit and discord here: https://www.reddit.com/r/lockpicking/s/0d39KF2PeQ https://discord.gg/lockpicking And always remember: You matter, You’re important, and I’m glad you’re here. IMPORTANT: do not pick a lock that you do not own or have the expressed permission of the owner to pick! Do not pick a lock that you use and rely on to function as it is intended. Check the legality of lock picking and locksport in your area and or region before starting your journey. #lockpicking #howtopicklocks #learnlockpicking #howto #openlock #howtoopenalock
