I agree with a lot of where you’re coming from, but saying that hookup culture within the queer community “isn’t wrong” is your opinion, and facts will tell you that it can be dangerous and harmful, especially for younger gays. There’s no “right” way to live as long as you’re not hurting others, but some lifestyle choices can hurt yourself and, in my opinion, shouldn’t be normalized in our community

yeah, that IS weird. you can build an app around finding longterm connections without doing this wannabe cosmo listicle thing. the preachy folks in the comments are also killing me. i'm a monogamous queer guy who has only ever been with my current partner, including sexually, but you could not pay me to preach at other queer men about hookup culture as if everyone else needs to want and have the same thing. if we want to make queer men, especially young queer men, who are not interested in hookups feel more comfortable and safe and confident in their bodily autonomy, it is fostering that comfort and safety and confidence that we have to focus on.
