It pretty much means that men will respect another man’s “property” rather than take the woman’s word and listening to her. Some men cannot fathom why a woman would say no to him and can’t let her make her own decision and it’s why they’ll keep trying to convince you to sleep with them until they find out you “belong” to someone else

I tell them I’m gay… they instantly stop pursuing. They don’t want to be found repulsive so they disengage. The interactions have been surprisingly pleasant. We laugh, he leaves 🤷🏻♀️
