have you ever heard of the game overrequiemz? it’s based on wizard of oz and takes the lore in a really different direction than any adaptation/inspiration i’ve seen but it’s kinda niche so i don’t know if you’d have seen it!

I don’t hate OTGAP as much as you do, but I also agree that it should’ve been more original than copying the plot from Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland.

Disney's live action Alice in Wonderland aged Alice up so they had to make the character more mature and involved, we were meant to believe that the events of the original had already happened and it was almost a sequel of sorts

The point of the original Alice character is that she doesn’t do what she’s told, so having her fulfill a prophecy was an incredibly tone deaf choice by woolwerton

I always thought the whole prophecy thing came from the other books cuz I know I've heard in some awesome videos that the wizard was destined to come to Oz because of some like prophecy of some sort.............no wait I think it was the book.........yeah Glenda's book that holds everything about us in it I don't know what video it was but it did mention that and that's he has to have the name OZ in his well name basically so I always thought it was just from the OZ universe just not as that important like The Great and Powerful OZ makes it out to be.

Might gonna sound weird but I have a huge love for OTGAP because it was amongst my childhood favourite movies and it was my introduction to the universe of Oz in general. Sure, it could have been a bit closer to the original world but I much prefer it as a sequel to the events of The Wizard of Oz than Wicked (DON’T FLAME ME ITS JUST MY OPINION OKAY THE FANDOM SCARES ME SOMETIMES) since I love to explore on the background of characters we don’t know much about like the wizard himself. But I will agree that they handled the evil witches in a weird way and they could have dropped a reference to the magic shoes (but I love that they kept it in black and white for the beginning and they used the real and Oz counterparts like in the 1939 movie like with Dorothy’s mother being Glinda)
